Vedic Astrology is the traditional astrology of India and the origin of what we know now as the 'Western Astrology'. It is part of the Vedas, the ancient books of India. The Vedas are know to be mankind's oldest and most sophisticated body of knowledge. Why? because it is above mankind. it was written, in the mother of all languages, Sanskrit, by the literary incarnation of good himself, known as Vyasadeva. Veda means wisdom. Scientists say that it is about 5,000 years old but if one even glances at the books they will read stories and accounts of times far before 3,000 BC. The Vedas are eternal parts of the creation. Even when this Universe is destroyed and created once more the Vedas remain intact.

The sanskrit name for Vedic Astrology is Jyotish. The word 'jyoti' can be translated as light. For example from a candle flame, but in this case the word refers to the light emanating from the Supreme Being. That light that gives us the ability to see threw our eyes, to the world and the other way around in to our selfs, and see the subtitles of life. The suffix 'sh' means 'best/wisest', so in full the word can be translated to: ' The Science of light'. Any light dispels darkness, but this 'jyoti' dispels ignorance.
